In America, more than 1500 casinos are running and their profits are huge. Some cities like Las Vegas rely on casinos heavily. This essay offers a brief introduction to the casino industry and problems and solutions around it. According to a research by AGA(American Gaming Association), gambling has already been a big part of economy gains in America. They found that gambling generates nearly $240 billion annually in total economic impact. Additionally, gambling creates more than 1.7 million job opportunities in America.(ââ¬Å"When Gaming growsâ⬠, 2014). On the other hand, gambling can bring many problems such as compulsive gambling and crime. In newspaper, tragedies like ââ¬Å"corrupted official gambles for money laundryâ⬠or ââ¬Å"company bankrupted because the boss was obsessed with gamblingâ⬠are often reported. Workers become poor and jobless after the bankrupt. Also, the police spend huge amount of social resource every year to solve economy crimes related to gambling. So on the other hand, gambling has risks of killing jobs and wasting social resources including money and human power, thus economy could be jeopardized.
